Overview’s Mission is to identify problems, provide services and operate programs in an effort to enable elderly and economically disadvantaged citizens to achieve self-sufficiency.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP for short, is a federal program that helps low-income households with a one-time payment toward their Heating or Cooling bill.
The heating program offers assistance with natural gas, electricity, or wood – whichever is the primary source of heating.
LIHEAP is offered only once each year. Clients are selected based on total family income.
To receive services, the client must make an appointment online or via phone during the sign up period.
An appointment does not guarantee assistance.
Overview, Inc. also administrates the Emergency Energy Assistance Program.
OVERVIEW INC.’s LIHEAP HEATING ASSISTANCE opens the first working day in December for ages 65 and older. NO other member of the household can be under 65 or over 18 UNLESS medically homebound.
The program will be open for the general public the first working day in January if funds are still available. We cannot guarantee funding will be available at the time appointments are scheduled to begin.
